How can we help the kelp? Join California State Parks interpreter Kenzi at Mendocino Headlands State Park to explore the kelp forests outside of the Big River marine protected area! In this program, we will learn about kelp forest ecology, food webs, and the role of keystone species like the endangered California sea otter and the endangered sunflower sea star in maintaining biodiversity. We will also discuss the impacts of climate change and explore some ways to aid in the recovery of California’s kelp forests. This program is suitable for audiences of all ages.
