What is a marine protected area (MPA)? Why is the Big River estuary an MPA? Join California State Parks interpreter Kenzi at Mendocino Headlands State Park to explore the Big River estuary! In this program, we will learn about the estuary’s role in supporting biodiversity, how it provides vital nursery habitat, and how it facilitates the migration and life cycles of many species, including salmon!
