California Citrus: The Groves and Beyond
California Citrus: The Groves and Beyond gives students the opportunity to step into the past and learn about the citrus industry and it's significance to Southern California. This program, that is designed for 3rd and 4th graders, will take students back in time to experience the history of citrus from its origins to it's boom at the turn of the 20th century and to present day. California Citrus State Historic Park is a unique slice of the Inland Empire that show cases over 70 different varieties of citrus fruits, immersing students into the diversity in their food system. Through this tour, students will learn how California’s second gold rush (citrus) helped shape and develop California today (economically, culturally, and technologically).
