Amazing Monarchs: Milkweed, Migration and Conservation!

California State Park Interpreters will take students on a virtual journey to discover the Western monarch overwintering habitat at Pismo State Beach. The Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove is a special site where Western monarchs migrate each November. Students will learn about the monarch’s life cycle and understand why the monarchs migrate to that specific location. We will also go over the importance of milkweed and other native plants that support pollinators. Students will gain an understanding of the threats that monarchs face and how we can help support monarch butterflies at school and at home.
