Help the Kelp!

Dive into kelp forest ecology and conservation at Mendocino Headlands State Park! In this program we will learn all about keystone and endangered species, kelp forest food webs and trophic cascades, climate change and marine heatwaves, and the importance of biodiversity. We will also learn about marine protected areas and our role in protecting these special places. This program is designed for middle school audiences, grades 6-8, and coincides with NGSS Standards MS-LS2-1, MS-LS2-2, MS-LS2-4, MS-LS2-5.
