ount Tamalpais State Park is a large, beautiful mountain park in Marin County. Though not far from the heart of San Francisco, Mt Tam, as it is affectionately nicknamed, offers miles and miles of trails and numerous picnic areas for a variety of outdoor activities amidst an astounding variety of ecosystems. From our Pantoll Campground and Ranger Station – the heart of this State Park – easy hikes can take you through mixed oak woodlands, coast redwood forests, chaparral, grassland, coastal scrub, and more! Mount Tamalpais is home to a lot of biodiversity and is a perfect location for outdoor studies in the Bay Area. In-person field trips can be tailored to meet educational needs and student abilities.

Mount Tamalpais is excited to offer blended-access programs through PassPORTS, which offers Title I public schools with a field trip reimbursement grant to experience the park both virtually and in-person!

Fill out the PassPORTS 23-24 interest form to find out if you qualify to receive up to $1000 in reimbursements for your field trip costs! If approved, the K-12 Access Coordinator will reach out to schedule your virtual and in-person programs.
