There are two types of field trips offered at Chino Hills State Park:

The Biodiversity Connections Field Trip: Embark on an exciting 3-hour field trip to explore the rich diversity of Chino Hills State Park, where nature comes alive through immersive, hands-on learning. Students will journey through native habitats, discovering the fascinating animals that call this park home and gaining a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of ecosystems. As we investigate the expansive wildlife corridor, we'll uncover the wonders of animal migration and spatial adaptations, showcasing how these natural processes shape our environment. Designed for students with a foundational understanding of habitats, this adventure promises to inspire curiosity, spark critical thinking, and foster a meaningful connection to the natural world.

The STEAM Journals Field Trip: Immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of nature with our STEAM journaling program—a unique, sensory-rich experience designed to awaken curiosity and creativity. Over the course of two captivating hours, students will explore the chaparral trails and a carefully curated nature garden, engaging all their senses to observe the intricate details of the natural world. Guided by knowledgeable park staff, participants will learn various journaling techniques to capture their observations, thoughts, and reflections, transforming them into stories, sketches, and scientific notes. Each step of the journey reveals key ecological concepts, from plant adaptations to animal behavior, encouraging a deeper connection to the environment. This interactive exploration fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a personal connection to nature, making it an enriching experience for learners of all ages.
