Humboldt Redwoods State Park Self-Guided Field Trip!

Explore Humboldt Redwoods State Park!

This self-guided field trip is independently facilitated by K-12 educators, chaperones or youth program group leaders without the support of California State Park staff.

During your field trip, you are more than welcome to explore the park whilst following established park rules. Upon completion of your field trip reservation, you will receive a confirmation email with information on how to prepare for and reflect on your field trip.

For your field trip, we recommend one of the following areas to visit:

  • Gould Nature Loop Trail (For parking, click here)
  • Founder’s Grove (For parking, click here)
  • Explore the Eel River (Federation of Women’s Clubs Grove or River Trail via Gould Grove Nature Loop)
  • Bull Creek Watershed (Big Trees Wayside off Mattole Road)

Teachers and students are welcome to explore the park on a self-guided field trip, dependent on facility and park operations, staffing, weather, and closures. Please contact erika.granadino@parks.ca.gov to request your self-guided field trip!
