Prairie City Physics Detectives

Join us as we explore off-highway vehicles and apply physics concepts at Prairie City State Vehicular Recreation Area! In this program we will learn about off-highway vehicle safety and even calculate speed and acceleration of a moving vehicle. As we travel through the beautiful rolling hills of Prairie City in a Polaris General, we'll also discuss the T.R.E.A.D. Lightly! principles and how they help us recreate responsibly. Along the way, we'll visit two collision sites to analyze the scenes and discuss how Newton's Three Laws of Motion apply to real-world scenarios. Designed for middle school students, this interactive program includes a worksheet that participants will complete throughout the program.
