The History of Coloma Told Through Trees

Join us at Marshall Gold Discovery SHP where during our program, the trees of the Coloma Valley help us tell the story of our state park. We will discuss the story of the Indigenous tribe in the valley and will learn about the history of the California Gold Rush and its impact on the town of Coloma and the surrounding valley. These trees can serve as physical reminders of each of the historical and culturally significant events that has shaped the town of Coloma and the surrounding valley. By the end of this program, we will find how the discovery of gold changed California both culturally and environmentally. NOTE: This program is best suited for 4th and 5th grades.
