The Go West Challenge

Think of this Columbia State Historic Park program as the gamified version of westward migration. Students will be placed in the shoes of gold miners journeying to California. They will be presented with both oversea and overland routes and then choose, as a class, which route their “Mining company” will take to California. Along the way, they will face many challenges and the consequences of their choices. Will their gold miners make it to California or perish on the trail?
