Salmon in the Trees
Did you know there are salmon in the trees? Sketch what you think that means! Join California State Parks interpreter Kenzi and Salmontha the salmon at Mendocino Headlands State Park to go on the migration of a lifetime! Discover how salmon make their way into the trees as we study nutrient transfer, decomposition, and of course… scat! Before attending this PORTS On-demand program, students should have already studied and be familiar with the salmon life cycle so that we can dive deeper into nutrient cycling and land-sea connections. This program is best suited for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade classrooms.
