Redwoods, Earth Cycles and Climate Change: (Recommended for grades 5th-12th)
As the keepers of a complex ecosystem, the coast redwoods interact with our Earth cycles in many ways. Even as resilient as the redwoods are, they are still threatened by the effects of climate change. In this program we will discuss the major causes of climate change and the important role that our forests play in offsetting our carbon emissions, but our forests need our help. Together, we will explore the connections between the water cycle, plant life cycle, and carbon cycle to further understand how we can do our part, to stand with the redwoods as climate champions.
